Intra Oral Camera

An intra-oral camera is a small television camera that is fitted onto the end of a wand about the size of a pen. When Dr. Walters or one of our team places this device in your mouth -- you are able to see what they see on a television monitor in the ceiling and on the dental chair. When using this device, we are able to record images of the inside of your mouth and you are able to tour right along with us to better understand any dental concerns we find.

We will often use these pictures to assist in long-term treatment planning, and in our presentations for cosmetic or orthodontic consultations These images are stored to your electronic chart in our office and are then used as a baseline for treatment. For our patients who suffer from periodontal problems, we can use the camera in an educational way to ensure you are paying special attention to certain areas in your daily home-care. The images are also quite helpful in ensuring you are better informed of the best treatment options available to you.
